Since 2002, Glenmore Manor has filled a critical gap in behavioral health and nursing support services for older adults with significant mental health disorders and low income. Glenmore Manor is the only licensed housing facility in Baltimore City, offering specialized services to older adults with chronic mental health disorders and functional impairments. Seniors with mental health conditions such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder may not require full nursing home care, but do need intensive structure, security, monitoring, support, and thorough coordination of services between behavioral health specialists and medical practitioners, to remain in the community. Glenmore is situated on a quiet street within safe walking distance to the public library and convenience shops in the northeast section of Baltimore.
Staffed at all times by two certified nursing assistants with training and experience in psychiatric disorders and geriatrics, it offers residents a safe and home-like environment with private rooms and a full-range of services to support independent living in the community, such as meal preparation, laundry, medication monitoring, and transportation.
Referrals are generally initiated by local Core Service Agencies (Baltimore, Carroll and Harford Counties) or by Baltimore Mental Health Systems (Baltimore City)
