Mosaic Community Services Receives Standards for Excellence Award from Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations

Standards LogoMosaic Community Services, a community-based mental health service provider serving Central Maryland, has been honored by the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations as a recipient of its Standards for Excellence award certifying that Mosaic programs and management meet a vigorous ethics and accountability code for the nonprofit sector.

To qualify for this award, organizations must successfully complete a comprehensive voluntary certification program conducted by a peer review team.  Mosaic’s programs and services, management, fundraising and financial practices were all reviewed to ensure that they met the highest standards of integrity, trust, responsibility, and accountability.

Jeff Richardson, Mosaic executive director, is a strong advocate of this peer review process:  “Mosaic has an excellent staff that is committed to helping individuals with mental health issues successfully live, work and socialize in their home communities.   We are also diligent stewards of the funding and contributions that make our work possible.  A Standards of Excellence award is a visible sign to the public that we are an organization to be trusted.”

Mosaic Community Services celebrates 25 years of service to the central Maryland community this year.  Its wide range of programs, which serve approximately 6,000 children, adolescents and adults annually, include outpatient mental health clinics, vocational/employment training, community housing, crisis residential services community rehabilitation, adult medical day, dual diagnosis and chemical dependency services.
