Rainy Weather Fails to Dampen the Spirit of Mosaic’s 5-K Run and Walk

Congratulations to all the runners and walkers who braved the early morning showers on October 25th to participate in Mosaic’s Second Annual 5-K Run and 1-Mile Walk.  In

keeping with the spirit of the event – exercise helps decrease depression – there were plenty of smiles to go around as participants crossed the finish line.  Top honors of the day went to Kevin Stover and Julie Bekier who finished the race in 16 minutes and 56 seconds and 21 minutes and 51 seconds, respectively.   Garrett Bonan, age 12, was the youngest participant to win a medal, finishing the race in 30 minutes and 3 seconds.  Other winners in their respective age groups included Cory Pfarr, Megan McNew, Chris DeCamps, Catherine Speer, Tom Eltz, Vera Case, Neville Anderson, Rosemary Lather, Robert Boca, and Gene Grady.  Plenty of enthusiastic volunteers were on hand to help register participants, direct runners and traffic, hand out food, and cheer everyone on.

Mosaic would like to express its sincere thanks to WJZ-reporter, Derek Valcourt, who emceed the event and the Baltimore Enquirer, which was the event media sponsor.  And a special thanks to Charm City Run, which coordinated the event, and Towson University, which hosted the event on its campus.
