Mosaic Community Services, one of the largest providers of community-based mental health services, including therapy, job training, housing and psychiatric rehabilitation in the state, is pleased to announce that its Baltimore City Vocational Program received certification from the State of Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration as an official Evidence Based Practice Supported Employment (EBP SE) site. In order to celebrate this enormous accomplishment and honor the clients enrolled in the entire Mosaic Vocational Program, the organization hosted an awards luncheon on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Oregon Ridge.

Individuals who received awards have been successfully employed for anywhere from six months to twenty years, which is a testament not only to the efficacy of EBP Supported Employment, but the hard work and dedication of each client enrolled in the program. Additionally, the wide variety of jobs in which Mosaic clients are employed speaks to the program’s ability to successfully match individual interests and skill sets with type and place of employment.During the course of the awards ceremony, Mosaic also recognized employers that continue to play instrumental roles in the EBP SE Program. As a result of the nature of mental illness, maintaining the consistent schedule that most jobs require can be challenging. Finally, Mosaic recognized Steven Reeder of the Mental Hygiene Administration for his continued advocacy for EBP SE programming in
