On October 20, 2007, Mosaic Community Services hosted its First Annual 5K Recovery Run at Towson University to raise awareness about depression and promote physical fitness and wellness in the community.   Studies indicate that exercise is a healthy and effective way to reduce the symptoms of depression while also improving overall physical health.  This event was a wonderful opportunity for Mosaic’s clients to enjoy a healthy recreational activity in the community.

The event was a huge success with over 250 runners and walkers participating.  Denise Koch of WJZ-TV was in attendance to emcee and present awards during the closing ceremony.  Mosaic would like to thank everyone who participated in the race, including over 60 volunteers who donated their time on and before race day.  Additionally, thank you to all of our corporate sponsors who supported the event.  Next year’s race is sure to be even better!
