CARF Three-Year Accreditation

Article posted on:12/17/2007

CARF LogoMosaic Community Services, the largest provider of community-based mental health services, including therapy, job training, housing, and psychiatric rehabilitation in the state, announced today that it has received a three-year accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).  A panel of CARF representatives conducted a three-day site visit in late June, during which time they conducted a comprehensive evaluation of all of Mosaic’s programs.

As a result, all of Mosaic’s programs have been awarded a three-year CARF accreditation, which is the longest designation an agency can receive.  This designation is an enormous accomplishment for Mosaic because accredited service providers receive recognition among an international community of consumers and programs.  In addition, CARF accreditation ensures the highest industry standards possible, thus designating Mosaic as one of the premier community-based mental health providers in Maryland.

CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of human service providers in the areas of aging services, behavioral health, child and youth services, employment and community services, and medical rehabilitation. The CARF family of organizations currently accredits more than 5,000 providers at close to 18,000 locations in the United States, Canada, Western Europe, and South America. Close to 6 million persons of all ages are served annually by CARF-accredited providers.
