Residential Counselor - Catonsville, MD

Mosaic's Catonsville Residential program has a full time opening for a Mental Health Residential Counselor, Monday - Friday, 2pm-10pm.

Duties:

The Residential Counselor provides direct care services to clients in agency owned housing including but not limited to medication monitoring, daily skills training and overall support. Serves as a role model for residents on and off grounds for various activities. Instructs, assists, and monitors residents in accordance with rehabilitation plans. Assists in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Work requires a high school diploma.

Must possess valid driver's license and a current driving license with no more than (2) points. Must have reliable transportation.

Some experience working with the mentally ill.

Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to establish therapeutic relationships with mentally ill residents and to communicate and work effectively with residents in accordance with rehabilitation plans.

Work requires the ability to withstand the stress and mental fatigue of working with chronic mentally ill residents.

Ability to pass a criminal background check.
