Rehabilitation Counselor

Current Openings:

1st Shift, 8a.m.- 4p.m. Monday - Friday

Duties:

To provide quality rehabilitation training and support to clients participating in the programs.  Will assist in finding work for the clients’ in the community, growing those employer/employee relationships, and will counsel client’s on their work skills.

Requirements:

Work requires the ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to maintain documentation and other record keeping tasks and working knowledge of specific patient population served, e.g., children and adolescents or adults with mental disorders-normally acquired through high school education or higher, including a relatively brief period of special training in high school college (A.A. degree in Counseling, Mental Health, or Human Services is preferred.) 
 

Work requires one-to-three month orientation period to obtain   sufficient familiarity with behavioral rehabilitation methods, procedures and techniques, Program policies and procedures,  and specific patient population.

Must possess valid driver's license at time of appointment.   Must have a current driving record with less than 3 points on it. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to establish therapeutic relationships with mentally ill residents and to   communicate and work effectively with residents in accordance with rehabilitation plans.

Must possess analytical skills sufficient to handle routine administrative details, such as completing Program reports.

Work requires the ability to withstand the stress and mental   fatigue of working with chronic mentally ill residents.

Work requires standing and walking, walking up and down stairs to monitor residents and  participate in program activities, driving program vehicle to  transport residents, and the ability to physically assist  residents with daily tasks.
