Duties:

The Licensed Addictions Counselor Trainees will assist in developing, directing, and monitoring an outpatient substance abuse program in accordance with Mosaic’s mission that will address the needs of client’s diagnosed with substance abuse as well as those with co-occurring mental illnesses. The Addictions Counselor Trainee will work towards achieving the required 2000 hours of clinical supervision under the watch of a Board approved Supervisor.

Requirements:

Licensed by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors to provide substance abuse treatment---normally with an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s degree in social work, psychology, and/ or addictions counseling.

Working knowledge of public mental health and substance abuse systems.

Ability to maintain a therapeutic, rehabilitative environment.

Ability to establish and reach programmatic goals--knowledge base in treatment modalities with dual diagnosis.

Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
