On May 8, 2014, Mosaic Community Services will hold its 10th Annual Awards Banquet, a celebration that had become the high point of the year for hundreds of Mosaic clients who live with chronic and severe mental illness and addictions. Mosaic serves children, adolescents and adults in the Baltimore metropolitan region and surrounding counties. For the past 9 years, our Awards Banquet is a special opportunity for our clients to be acknowledged individually for their outstanding progress in recovery and their ability to live, work, go to school, and become productive members of the community.
All proceeds will benefit Mosaic’s Social and Recreational Fund – which will provide thousands of our clients the opportunity to participate in outings and other activities in the community. Gifts to this fund support the cost of social and recreational activities, as well as the operating costs associated with providing these activities. For those we serve, social and recreational activities are therapeutic tools to an individual’s recovery. It is a way to relieve the barrier of isolation, make friends, build self-confidence, find a daily purpose and provide a reason to remain in treatment programs.
